Taking at look at the beginning
And what Jesus does for us everyday!

As we move towards a new year I will look at creation, and how it relates to God and his loving plan for us. We have all heard Genesis Chapter one verses 1 and 2 hundreds of times:

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters."

Now looking at this we can relate to ourselves. After all before we knew about God, the Holy Spirit and Christ Jesus, we were void and covered by the darkness of sin. Remember also that God is still moving, like it says here. For like the son in the 'parable of the lost son' (Luke 15:11-32) we were lost and now through Christ we are found. God is like the shepherd in the 'Parable of the lost sheep':

"What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go in search of the one that went astray. And if he FINDS it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." (Matthew 18: 12 - 14, Enter Parable is from verse 10 - 14)

Do not forget that God Loves His people, (you and I) and He knows everyone, but not all know him. Truly God rejoices over those whom seek to know him! When you are saved you are found in Jesus, who is the son of God.

Now if we look back at Genesis chapter one, moving on to verses 3 - 5 we will see something else interesting.

"And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the LIGHT from the DARKNESS. God called the light Day, and the dark he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning one day."

This is our salvation, Jesus came and took the darkness (or sin) from us and created a light, which shines brightly throughout the world. He is the maker of the day, and ruler of all in the light. The enemy controls those who seek after the darkness, yet God still yearns to know them:

"For God so loved the WORLD that he GAVE his only SON, that whoever believes in him should NOT perish but have ETERNAL LIFE. For God sent the SON into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be SAVED through HIM." (John 3:16 and 17)

So truly when Jesus died on the Cross for US he became the LIGHT of the WORLD. The same section also warns that those who do not believe in him after hearing about him are already condemned. (Verse 18) And as it says that is due to the fact that they do not believe that God's own SON came and died for them. It may also be because they love the Darkness, and the Servant of all evil, who seeks to destroy all that God has created.

As we read through the rest of Genesis chapter one we see that God creates all things: the land. the sea, the stars, moon, birds, fish, and also animals and man. Later he made females (Chapter 2) because the man was alone, and God wanted the man to be happy; so man and women were meant to be together. In Eden, God gave Adam and Eve gave them everything they would ever need, and later in chapter two he warns them not to eat of the fruit of evil. Before this though, God, on the seventh day rested. (The Sabbath)

It is wonderful to see that even in the very first few chapters of the Bible we can already see God plan for everything. From when Adam and Eve broke the law which God made for them there has been sin, but Jesus God's SON has come to SAVE us from it. So let US rejoice in knowing that God loves us more than we can ever know.
