Getting to know Jesus Christ

Today so few people really know what Jesus really stood for. Not many people these days know why he did the things he did. Its easy to do since he died over 2000 years ago. The truth of the matter is that his death and resurrection was not the end, but rather the beginning.

I'll start out by pointing out some of the things that Jesus did during his time on earth and then his death and resurrection. Then I will tell you how I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

The first thing to know is that God loves you no matter what you have done in the past, or what you will do in the future.

Jesus said,"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him."
John 3:16-18 (The Message)

The fact that God gave up his only Son, Jesus, so that you could be made right before him says a lot. How many of you would be willing to give up your own children to save a friend. Maybe a few, but you see Jesus died on the Cross just for you and also for everyone else in the world! Everyone has an emptiness that only God can fill because he made us that way. There is one thing that you should know before going on. Some people say that Christians are stuck up because they think they are so good, but that's a miss conception.

"...are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. As it is written:
There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.
All have turned away, they have together become worthless;   there is no one who does good, not even one."
"Their throats are open graves;  their tongues practice deceit."
"The poison of vipers is on their lips."
"Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
"Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know."
"There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin." (The law is the ten commandments.)

But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished -- he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Romans 3:9-26 (The Message)

As you can see nothing we can do ourselves can make us right before God. From the first time we sinned (missed the mark) we became unrighteous before Him. You are saved when you believe that Jesus the Christ, died on the cross and took your sins upon himself. Then he died and three days later rose from the dead. He did this because God loves you and wants to know you. He wants you to no longer be captive to sin. "For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace." (Romans 6:14 NIV)

I know that things from the bible may not be proof enough for you, but I believe the what the bible says because of what Jesus has done in my life. For many years I was unaware of God, in fact I made fun of anyone who talked about Jesus or God because it was nonsense to me. Then I met a few people who lived for Jesus, although you might not know it at first, since they look just like anyone else. You see anyone can quote things from the bible, but its the reason why they tell you that matters. I got to know one of them and he invited me to go to church with him. I thought it would be better than doing nothing on a Friday night so I went. I learned about Jesus from him and the pastors at the church, but it took a few more weeks for me come accept Jesus.

I accepted him because the people there cared for me and treated me like someone rather than a nobody. The fellow who invited me talked to me about God and started understand why Jesus died on the cross. He did for every time I blew it and he can do the same for you. Since I have accepted Jesus in my life I have met so many people its hard to count. Thats not really least of it though. Jesus has given my something I never had or knew about before. Not happiness, anyone can be happy, but he gave me joy. You see joy is not something that just lasts for a few minutes. Its there in the good times and the bad times. Its knowing that God loves you no matter how many times you mess up. All you have to do is ask him for forgiveness, and he will forgive you! God will love you, forgive you and give you joy, peace and so much more. All you have to do is ask him to come into your heart. Ask him to be your Lord and savior and he will come and fill you with His love and cover you with grace which is beyond understanding.

*If you want to know Jesus as your savior I suggest that you go to a meeting of believes at a local church, since this is not really the best place to do so, although many questions you might have may be answered in the studies here on this site. If you would like prayer or have any questions feel free to email me with the address bellow.*

May the Lord Jesus Chirst bless you.
