And taking the twelve, he (Jesus) said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written of the Son of man by the prophets will be accomplished. For he will be delivered to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon; they will scourge him and kill him, and on the third day he will rise." But they understood none of these things; this saying was hid from them, and they did not grasp what was said.
Luke 18:31-34
We all have heard of the death and resurrection of Christ many times, but this doesn't change its importance. The disciples at this point didn't understand what Jesus was telling them, for they had their minds clouded. All the things Jesus tells them happened as we all know. We must not forget the importance of Christ's Death and resurrection, for it is the foundation of everything we believe. If Christ isn't risen then we are not saved, but thanks to the grace, forgiveness and never ending love of our Father in heaven, he was RISEN!! For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that we may be saved!
