The Comeing of the Kingdom
The Coming of the Kingdom
Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, "The Kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say,'Lo, here it is! or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you."
Luke 17:20-21

Jesus own words clearly states, "The Kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;" this is what many people have trouble understanding. Some people I have talked to feel that when the kingdom comes, we will "see" it but we must remember what Jesus has said. For "nor will they say, 'Lo, here it is! or 'There'," Only with our faith, and through Gods wisdom will we know when the time has come, if it is during our time here on earth. Then Jesus says "behold the kingdom of God is in the midst of you." From what I can tell he is tell us that God and his kingdom are always with us, yet it cannot be see with the eye.

And he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, 'Lo, there!' or 'Lo here!' Do not go, do be not follow them. For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation."
Luke 17:22-26

I can't speak for you guys, but I am looking forward to the day when the Son of man Returns! And if you do, we must remember what he says, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it." and later in verse 24 he says, "Do not go, do not follow them. For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day." In verse 24, he is giving us an example of how great his arrival will be, I don't think he is speaking literally.

Luke 17: 26 - 30 As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man. They ate, drank and they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was in the days of Lot-they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they build, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and brimstone rained from heaven and destroyed them all-so will it be on they day when the Son of man is revealed.
Luke 17:26-30

I am guessing that you have all read the story of Noah so there isn't much to talk about on that. The last verses 29 and 30, "but on the days when Lot went out from Sodom fire and brimstone rained from heaven and destroyed them all-so will it be on they day when the Son of man is revealed." are very meaning full. Those who do not trust in or Follow the Lords will, will be destroyed, when the Son of man returns!

On that day, let him who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away; and likewise let him who is in the field not turn back. Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it."
Luke 17:31-33

I don't know if you heard hear the story of Lot, so I will add this, Lot's wife was turned to stone, when she looked back on Sodom as God was destroying it, before he stated he told Lot that whoever left Sodom and looked back would be destroyed as well. Mostly to test the faith of the men whom followed God. If they trusted him, they would know the city was gone, if not, then they would look back! I am still not sure what is meant by verse 33, I will have to think about that some more.

"I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left." And they (the disciples) said to him, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there they eagles will be gathering together."
Luke 17:34-37

Verse 34 and 35 are very revealing. They remind us that those who follow the Lord, will be risen with him, when he returns to the heavens, and those who do not, will be left behind. To me verse 37 is puzzling, but in time it will be revealed.
